International Women's Week: EA actions worldwide

Summary

Last week was International Women’s Day and we decided to celebrate it with the global #beboldforinclusion campaign in Europ Assistance Group.

Virginie Babinet, Group CTO and D&I Sponsor tells us why it is key to promote gender diversity.

We organized different awareness initiatives across our Group: we shared the interviews done with Domenica Lista, Group General Counseil and Veronique Destruel, Group Chief Human Resources and Organization for the Women in EA Series, but we also organized several events, one on Tuesday with Antoine Parisi, Group CEO, where some bright young women talents had the chance to interact with him and one event on Wednesday hosting Catherine Barba, speaker, entrepreneur, e-commerce pioneer and expert in retail transformation where we talked about how diversity fuels your capacity to innovate.

Other initiatives were deployed in many of the countries of Europ Assistance.

For example, in Spain, a breakfast with the CEO, Juan Luis Cavero, and some colleagues was organized to talk about Diversity & Inclusion, focusing on women’s career. The following day 5 female managers had the opportunity to discuss about their career and life experience, with other colleagues attending and actively participating in the session.

Europ Assistance Portugal promoted a webinar opened by Paula Casa Nova, CEO of Europ Assistance Portugal and José Pedro, CEO of AdvanceCare and organized together with APPDI - Portuguese Association for Diversity and Inclusion, to talk about women’s inclusion in the workplace. Our colleagues from Europ Assistance Portugal and AdvanceCare took part in the event which led to an open debate that highlighted the importance of this topic.

In Poland, women managers talked about their role as managers as well as opportunities to grow within the company in a video that you can watch here.

In Italy this year the spotlight was on the language, highlinting the importance of the words we use and the inclusive behaviours we can promote via some interesting little games ranging from the bias quiz to an interactive travel to reach the inclusion land.

In Brazil our colleagues organized a talk session with a TV presenter and journalist about the representation of Black woman in the media and at work in general. The presenter shared her story, specially focusing on 'Being the change you want to see in the world' and believing women can achieve anything.

Let’s all be bold to raise awereness against bias and to embrace inclusion.
