A stroke is when the blood supply to the brain is suddenly interrupted, caused by a clot or a rupture. Without the oxygen they need, brain cells can be severely damaged or die. Strokes are extremely dangerous, strike fast and can happen to anyone. Some groups are at much higher risk than others, such as those with high blood pressure or an unhealthy lifestyle.
